In Buddhism, alms or almsgiving is the respect given by the people to monks. In the early mornings, monks will walk pass our hotel where the community line up the streets offer food and other essential items for their day-to-day needs. This ritual is very much a part of the daily lives of many Thais.

Canal Excursion

A scenic route less traveled canals of the Rattanakosin island and its neighborhood. The path along the canal is the Royal boat museum. Visits the famous Ta Ling Chan floating market which comes alive on weekends showcasing local arts and crafts along with food stalls.

Participate in a small traditional offering to the monks at approximately 6.30 am in front of the lobby.

Songkran

Songkran is when Thais celebrate New Year, Thai New Year's celebration is on the 13th of April, oftentimes the holiday period can last until 15th of April. Locals will dress up in colorful clothing or thai dresses. After offering food to the monks in the morning, people will then offer a requiem to their ancestors. The celebration begins with the water festival which is mostly celebrated by young people. People of all ages participate in this tradition by splashing water on each other.

The celebration of Songkran at Theatre Residence awaits.

The festival originated from an ancient ritual paying respect to the water spirits where people wish for love and happiness. Based on the traditional Thai lunar calendar.

Loy Krathong takes place on the 12th month (The end of November) on the night of the full moon.

Join us for the festival in the month of November. You will witness and participate in Loy Krathong festival from Wat Rakhang Pier where you will observe the magnificent view all across the Chao Phraya river.
