Wat Arun is one of the most stunning temples in Bangkok. Its design is very different to the other temples.
It’s partly made up of colourfully decorated spires and stands majestically over the water.
The main highlight of Wat Arun is undoubtedly the grand pagoda, or Prang in Thai. Influenced by Khmerstyle
pagoda, the 67-meter-tall pagoda is made of cement covered by million pieces of China porcelains.

The temple is a royal temple of the second grade of Woramahawiharn of the Thai school of Theravada
Buddhism district 1. The temple was renovated and designated as a royal temple for the residence of
SomdetPhraSangkharat, the first Supreme Patriarch of the Buddhist monks during Rattanakosin period.

“Wat Pho"
One of the Bangkok’s oldest and largest temples, A must-do for any first-time visitor in Bangkok. Wat Pho is located right next to the Grand Palace on the South side. Built by King Rama I nearly 200 years ago, it houses the gigantic gold-plated Reclining Buddha which measures 46 metres in length and 15 metres in height. Wat Pho is also considered the leading school of massage so it’s a great place to have a traditional Thai massage.
Getting there : By ferry to Tha Tien pier. Then walk through the market and up the short street. Wat Pho is
directly across the intersection, on your right.
Phra Thi Nang Vimanmek
Vimanmek is located in the Dusit Palace area behind the old National Assembly Building, this threestorey
European style mansion is the biggest golden teakwood building in the world. There are 81 rooms,
halls and anterooms. The Royal Carriage Museum is situated near the entrance of Vimanmek house 13
royal horse-drawn carriages, which were once used during the reign of King Rama V. Regarded as
having great historical value, The Royal Carriage Museum attracts a number of tourists as well.
Getting there : By express boat and stop at Thewet pier. Then take Tuk Tuk or Taxi from there.
